Consultation

The Education Providers consultation closed on Friday 29th October, and we are currently in the process of analysing the responses, which will be shared with all stakeholders over the coming weeks.

Parent/Carer Workshops

We held two parent/carer workshops during October with approximately 12/13 attendees at both sessions. A recording of the one of the sessions has been published on the Local Offer.

Parent Friendly information

SENDIASS and the Local Offer representative are currently working with a parent to ensure the uploaded information relating to the implementation of the EBT is parent/carer friendly.

Draft Processes and Pathways

We are currently working on the draft processes and pathways for the Banding Tool and aim to share these with the Reference Group later this month for their thoughts and comments.

We have scheduled 1 hour briefing sessions with the new District Operational Leads and Family Practitioners under the Children’s Transformation to support them with their in understanding of the Banding Tool and the processes and pathways which will be finalised by then.

Training

We are working with Imosphere to update the current training for our SEND Keyworkers, which includes new videos and guidance document and the Capita One Team to ensure the EBT outcome is recorded within Capita. Recording in Capita will support the Finance team when allocating budgets to schools.

Quality Assurance

We are also considering what the quality assurance looks like to ensure consistency across the County and hope to share this with the Reference Group for their views and thoughts.

Funding for pupils with complex health needs

We are continuing to work with our Health colleagues and representatives from the Special Schools to consider funding for pupils with complex health needs. However, we have provided reassurance to the special schools that education funding for health tasks will not be automatically removed for children moving to the Band funding without consideration of the Health contribution. We would therefore consider continuing to fund the pupil through the current matrix and EN agreement until it can be resolved.

Further Education

In light of the Further Education challenges, it proposed that the implementation for Further Education will be deferred until June 2022. An additional data pilot group, (a further 60 Further Education pupils) is being completed to obtain a better understanding of the Further Education cohort.
