MiDoS for Care Homes in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent (Updated February 2022)

What is it?

This localised version of MiDoS has been designed as an online information hub for care homes in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

It provides access to elements of the NHS directory of services (DoS) and a wide range of supportive information, which includes links to various community teams and associated key guidance.

The platform itself is a collaboration between the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Clinical Commissioning Groups, West Midlands Ambulance Service, Staffordshire County Council Quality Assurance Team and the Stoke-on-Trent City Council Quality Assurance Team.

How does it work?                                            

The platform itself uses a streamlined user interface, designed to get the user to the information they want within a few clicks.

What type of content can I access on the platform?

There is a wide range of information that can be accessed on the platform, some of which includes:

  • Contact details for community teams, contract management teams, care review requests, and care brokerage services.
  • Contact details for dentists, pharmacies, GPs, opticians and hospitals.
  • Referral links for safeguarding, serious incidents and regulatory notifications.
  • Key information pages for NHS.net email.
  • Guidance around safeguarding referrals, mental capacity and other associated guidance.
  • Links to organisations that provide supportive guidance to care homes.

Who can access the platform?

The platform is designed for use within care homes in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, this includes both residential care homes and nursing care homes.

Login details can be provided to any care home in Staffordshire or Stoke-on-Trent. These login details can be used by multiple devices at the same time. The platform itself is web based so there is no need to download an app, although we do recommend saving the webpage as a favourite in your internet browser.

Is there a cost to access the platform?

There is no cost to access the platform.

Are there any future plans for the platform?

There is a rolling program of review that will see the content reviewed and updated, following feedback and the availability of new resources.

If your care home is registered in Staffordshire, please contact the Staffordshire County Council Quality Assurance team at QAT@staffordshire.gov.uk.

If your care home is registered in Stoke-on-Trent, please contact the Stoke-on-Trent Quality Assurance team at qualityassurance@stoke.gov.uk.
