Youth Offending Service, Education, Training and Employment Officer notifies SEND Locality Manager of child /young person

SEND Locality Manager advises Youth Offending Service Education, Training and Employment Officer whether child or young person has a EHCP or known SEND

NB: if no EHCP but has known SEND – SEND Locality Manager to notify any Local Authority Specialist Support Service(s) involved with the child or young person.

Child or young person with EHCP receives a custodial sentence – Education, Training & Employment Officer advises SEND Locality Manager of length of sentence and where placed

SEND Locality Manager must send copy EHCP to Education, Training & Employment Officer, Young Offender Institution and NHS (within 5 working days)

SEND Locality Manager and Education, Training & Employment Officer liaise re Young Offender Institution sentence planning meeting (to take place within 10 days of date of sentence) to ensure provision can be met at Young Offender Institution
