AEN funding for mainstream schools
The AEN form has been revised to reflect the changes in the 2015 Code of practice and will hopefully be easier and quicker to use.
The form along with supporting documents will now need to be submitted to the single point of access on a half termly basis.
We are hoping that this will resolve the issues that have been identified by schools and therefore the response to your applications will be actioned in a timely manner.
Applications will be considered by the district panels each and every half term. Schools will then be informed of the decision the following half term.
Each half term will now have a closing date as follows:
- 12:00 midday on 23 October 2020
- 12:00 midday on 18 December 2020
- 12:00 midday on 12 February 2021
- 12:00 midday on 1 April 2021
- 12:00 midday on 28 May 2021
- 12:00 midday on 21 July 2021
Please note in order to speed up the process the local authority will no longer seek the professional views of supporting services but will now rely on the documentation attached to the application. We do not expect schools to submit large quantities of supporting paperwork but carefully selected documents that demonstrate a graduated response and the involvement of outside support services.
