Education health and care needs assessments (EHCNA): Guidance for referrers of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) 0 - 25 years

This guidance document is aimed at those who are making decision on behalf ofthe local authority and anyone intending to make a request to the Local Authority.  It sets out guidance to support the decision-making in response to requests for EHC needs assessments and should be read in conjunction with:

  • Children and Families Act 2014
  • Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Code of Practice: 0-25 (2015) and Regulations (2015)
