The Gov.uk website has an on-line job search.  You can search by what job you would like to do, for example catering, and where you would like to do it, for example Staffordshire.

Look out for disability confident employers.  These employers have made a commitment to employ, and keep in their employment, disabled people and people with health conditions.

There are many other job search websites.  Use your search engine or visit the Get Active website, where you can find lots more information.  The Learn My Way website has lots of tips and information on finding a job and includes how to search and find a job online.

You may want to think about a traineeship, supported internship, apprenticeship or perhaps volunteering to get some experience.  See our blue directories below for more information.

Jay, who was born with cerebral palsy, has produced this video for teengers and young people with disabilities.  It is based on his experience and journey of gaining employment.

Jay's message is that it’s important to stay positive. In his teens he remembers how difficult it was to see a future and how he could make a contribution to society. It is aimed particularly at those who may be nervous about starting work or who are thinking about a future career.
