Approach - Men in Sheds Day Opportunities
Approach recognises that some men may struggle to engage in their preferred individual activities in a traditional day opportunity setting. In light of this we operate male specific groups called Men in Sheds, these groups are available in the City of Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle area. The groups support men diagnosed with dementia or related health issues.
Men in Sheds groups are designed to provide a structured enjoyable day for men and to enable them to engage in meaningful activities such as gardening, DIY, joinery and other specific interests. There are also occasional visits and trips out to places of interest.
Group sizes are kept to a minimum so that everyone has plenty of help and support. They run between 10am-3pm, meeting at local venues. Transport and a hot meal are provided.
March 2020 -group suspended due to corona virus - please phone 01782 214999 or email enquiries@approachstaffordshire for dementia support
