It is on land owned by the Group and immediately adjacent to the existing Scout Hut which will remain in use. There is a large car park which is an extremely valuable asset in Brewood where this is a significant problem. There are grassed areas around the building which are suitable for some external activities, and lighting is being provided to increase security, safety and confidence. Some simple fencing has been erected.
Costs
- TBA per session
- Details
- A budget is not yet completed, but costs such as insurance, provision of utilities and maintenance are being established or estimated. The intention is to keep hire costs as low as possible as a way of thanking the local Community for their support in making this project a success. Some groups will be able to use the building free of formal charges but donations will be suggested. The Brewood Dementia Therapy Group is an initial example of this. A management committee has been formed and a treasurer has been appointed to progress costings.

Following the official opening ceremony in September 2021, use of the new centre is increasing as shown in the photos below. A table tennis club has been formed and a 'Trading Post' established. This is effectively a fundraising charity shop which had previously been sited in the village centre. An art group whose previous venue was less than ideal, has relocated to the new centre and members are very pleased with the extra space available and the enhanced daylight.
- Other notes
A telephone line has been connected and Broadband and Wi-Fi stations have been installed. A Facebook page has been established which is specific to the new Centre. Recognition will be made to all those who have given grants or who have contributed by giving their time and expertise on a voluntary basis. Photos have been uploaded showing examples of completed internal room refurbishment and of the first groups to start using the venue. A successful opening ceremony was held in early September. Interest in, and bookings for, the Hub are increasing.
