We provide a continence service to children, young people and their families from the the age of 5-19 years, or up to age 25 if the young person has special educational needs and disabilities.
What we offer
If you live or school in Stoke on Trent, we will meet, assess and support the child, young person and their family.
We offer continence support with clinics to support bed time wetting, day time wetting, basic advice and assessment for children and young people who may require continence products. We also provide 1-1 advice and support regarding constipation and soiling.
We deliver three clinics per week throughout the City of Stoke on Trent for children and young people on bedwetting:
- Monday 1.30 – 5pm at Hanley Health Centre.
- Monday 1.30 – 5pm at Tunstall Primary Care Centre.
- Wednesday 1.30 – 5pm at Longton Health Centre.
We will make a link with the child or young person’s school if needed and advocate for the needs to be met whilst they are attending school. We also provide school staff with education/training and support with care planning.
Following our assessments we may refer on to other services such as Paediatrician, GP to refer back to Urologist, CAMHS learning disability team, Pelvic Health Team and the Children’s Community Nursing Team- constipation clinic.
