Where newly arrived families have children, we are keen to assist you with getting access to school placements where this is required. 

Applications for school places are referred to as ‘in-year’ and should be made directly to the requested school in the first instance. The County Council’s School Admissions Team can advise on school place availability and how to proceed if you experience difficulty. Further information can be found here.

Schools are expected to identify and meet the needs of children with additional Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND).  Staffordshire County Council will be able to offer more support and information if you need it. Useful links below:

Support is available for families who need a place in early years provision or nurseries for children aged 2, 3 or 4 years of age.

Adult Education

You can find general education and adult education nearby on the Gov.uk website 

Staffordshire County Council also offer a range of Adult & Community Courses  both online and classroom based. 

Apprenticeships

An apprenticeship is a genuine job, with training, which means your son or daughter can earn while they learn and gain a nationally recognised qualification.

Apprenticeships are now available up to degree level and beyond. Over 50 national universities are currently offering a range of degree apprenticeships.
