Helpline and information

We offer a personal support system for people at their point of need, with a specialist helpline and free information.

We can help you get the equipment, services and financial assistance you are entitled to. We can put you in touch with someone who knows what it’s like to live with muscle-wasting conditions. Our Support hub can show you support and services near you – including specialist teams and neuromuscular Centres of Excellence.

Factsheets with detailed information about many muscle-wasting conditions can be downloaded from our website, which include specific factsheets for teachers, schools and professionals. 

Neuromuscular care plan

Muscular Dystrophy UK has worked alongside a range of specialist health professionals to develop a care plan that can be completed by yourself and your neuromuscular clinicians. This care plan can then be shown to any health professional and helps them to give a tailored approach to your healthcare.

Alert cards

Muscular Dystrophy UK has created condition-specific alert cards for different muscle-wasting conditions.

These new cards mean that people living with muscle-wasting conditions and their families will have the security of knowing they can easily inform emergency health care professionals of the vital and specific issues that affect children and adults with these conditions.
