Cherry Orchard Garden Services CIC (also known as COGS) is a non-for-profit organisation run for and by adults with learning disabilities who face many barriers being integrated into the local community. With the help of our support staff, the members of COGS are trained gardeners who provide practical work in the community by gardening for the local elderly people in the Burntwood & Lichfield area who struggle to maintain their gardens due to illness and vulnerability.

At COGS, our charity arm which is called COGS Prepares 4 Life CIO focuses on increasing self-esteem and confidence, independent living and  practical skills such as cooking healthy meals and personal hygeine, gardening skills, machine maintainance in the winter months and woodworking, where they learn to make planters, troughs and benches on commission for the local community.

We also offer travel training which helps those at COGS learn how to read public transport timetables, how to plan the route to get to the bus stop that they need to go to, when to get off the bus and walk to where they need to go. This also helps them learn time management skills. Due to this we do not offer transport to and from COGS as we encourage our users to be independent.

We operate Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3pm.

COGS only close for bank holidays and a week over the Christmas period, barring unforeseen circumstances.
