Longdon Hall School

School Logo

Standing in a superb therapeutic setting with its own grounds and Forest School woodland, Longdon Hall’s outstanding reputation stems from its overwhelming success in re-engaging the most vulnerable and disillusioned learners across the Midlands.

With an innovative curriculum to reignite interest in each pupil, Longdon Hall embraces a raft of initiatives with personalised targets to ensure every child can make excellent progress which is appropriate to their specific needs.

The holistic, therapeutic approach extends beyond the classroom into the home environment, with supportive family therapy.

The school’s successful strategy wins acclaim from parents, carers, social workers and local authorities. Ofsted reported: “As a result of outstanding teaching and assessment, students rapidly become re-engaged in their education, make outstanding academic progress and develop personal, emotional and social skills outstandingly well.”

Longdon Hall’s reputation was recognised further when it won the prestigious TES Special Needs School of the Year in 2014.

Other notes

Our vision is to offer a personalised learning experience whilst addressing a complex range of barriers to learning, including social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and associated conditions including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, oppositional defiance disorder and a range of autistic spectrum disorders. We will meet the needs of the most vulnerable young people and will equip them with the necessary skills for life through differentiated learning and intervention support.

Our vision is to help each young person to maximise their potential, to promote their self-esteem and well being and to become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens with a fundamental understanding of British values including democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.

Our Vision is reflected in the Longdon Hall School motto – Supporting Pupils In Reaching Excellence (SPIRE)

We aim to achieve our vision through 3 key areas of delivery:

  • Personalised and engaging curriculum delivered in a therapeutic learning environment
  • Effective, planned support with families and carers
  • To focus on developing skills for life and to prepare pupils for their next life stage
