  • Psychologists,
  • Doctors (known as Psychiatrists),
  • Art Therapists,
  • Nurses and
  • Youth Workers.

We also have Family Therapists who may offer some sessions with you and your family, to help you all understand each others experiences in a more helpful way.

Are there any costs?

There are no costs to the patient.

How do I refer?

Young people under 18 years of age living in south staffordshire can self refer with the consent of their parents or carers.  To self refer please complete the online form on our website.

What happens after referral?

When you are first referred to CAMHS, the team will offer you an assessment where you get the chance to discuss what things are bothering you and how CAMHS might be able to help. There will then be a discussion with you, and your parents if you want them to be involved, and with the team, to see how CAMHS may be able to help you. It may be that CAMHS then offer you some further appointments to work through some of the difficulties you might be having. Or, It may be that a different service would be better suited to helping you; if this is the case, CAMHS will provide you with this information and make any other referrals with your agreement.

What happens when I become an adult?

If needed, a transition will be made to the adult mental health team. This will be completed over a period of time and may involve some joint appointments with children’s and adult services.
