1871 (Rugeley) Squadron Air Cadets

We are a local youth organisation based in Rugeley with approximately 40 members aged 12-19. We normally meet on evenings and weekends and provide cadets with engaging and worthwhile activities which focus on developing skills such as teamwork, self-discipline, resilience and leadership.
Cadets that work with us gain qualifications like the BTEC’s in Aviation Studies, BTEC in Teamwork and Personal Development and the ELA in Health and Safety. All gain a First Aid qualification and many study instructional/leadership technique. They undertake a Duke of Edinburgh Award and complete the Duke of York iDEA Award in Digital Innovation.
The routine, structure and training opportunities we provide improves self-confidence, self-worth and mental health. Young people leave us as well-rounded individuals ready for the world of work or further study.
