Malt House Farm Day and Employment Opportunities
Aim is a day opportunities and employment skills provider. We are based in Bentley in rural North Warwickshire and our small enterprise farm is 8.9 acres, predominantly made up of grazing and housing for our Bees, our rare breed sheep, pigs, alpacas and our poultry, we have a Dutch barn where we host workshops and outbuildings, some of which are currently used as workshop areas.
The farm house is currently under development, the kitchen as a registered food processing area which can be used to teach cooking and independent living skills and the bedrooms to do the same but to also offer accommodation for weekend workshops or a stay over for families or individuals wanting to holiday away from their home, to meet friends safely for a special occasion, whilst enjoying the countryside.
We are based in Bentley in rural North Warwickshire 9.6 miles from the centre of Tamworth, Atherstone train station is 2.7 miles from us and we are able to offer a pick-up service from the station.
Our site has been open through Covid and we have continued to take people from Warwickshire and Solihull and have a full Covid Risk Assessment in place.
We offer the following:
Employment Skill based Opportunities for people with Mental Health issues, ASD,Autism/Aspergers, Social Isolation, Learning, Emotional or behavioural issues, these include: Maths, English, Independent Living, Horticulture, IT, Softward development, Electronics, Website development, Entrepreneurship all up to OCN level 4
Day Opportunities: 1/2 day and full day (including weekend) Creative craft and wellbeing workshops, classes and courses designed to build skills and confidence and enable individuals to learn a new skill which they then may go on to use as a base of employment, our courses and workshops include:
- Arts and Crafts including felting and processing/dying wool from our own sheep, jewellery making, furniture painting and upholstery and needlework
- Various animal courses including keeping pigs, sheep and poultry
- Machinery repair and servicing
- Cycle Repair and maintenance, this includes Cytec level 1 and certificated cycle maintenance courses
- Seasonal based workshops making Christmas decorations, wreathes etc
- Heritage crafts including needle felting, wet felting, Coppicing, hedge-laying, charcoal burning,
Our new website is currently under development and will show our full range of provision including costs for activities and courses.
All of our staff are DBS checked and H&S policies and procedures are up to date, as are all of our courses and activities. Our staff are all trained in Safeguarding, MH First Aid and MH awareness, Autism Awareness and our beekeeper is trained in EpiPen use.
During Covid the majority of our courses will operate with no more than 4 attendees, PPE will be available as will materials and equipment where necessary for courses.

We are a small enterprise farm whose animals have been used in our therapy based services. Customers are welcome to visit and when appropriate feed and pet our animals. Our Alpacas are used to halters and are walked daily.
