The Role of the Early Years Area SENCO Team

The team consists of Specialist Teacher Consultants with a broad and varied range of skills and experiences in special educational needs. The role of the team is to;

  • Provide advice and guidance on the development of inclusive learning environments
  • To foster links between education, health, social care and other agencies by appropriate signposting
  • To facilitate early provision for children with special educational needs and disabilities, and support the transition to statutory schooling.
EY SENIS Telephone Advice Helpline

The team run a helpline to discuss early concerns andinformal concerns and other queries. No details of children are taken and so you can contact the helpline for support without parental consent if necessary, although we encourage transparency and honesty with parents and carers at all stages.

The helpline runs on Tuesdays in term time, usually in the mornings.

To request a helpline call, please email the EY SENIS team with the subject title ‘Tuesday helpline’. You can include a brief message of our query and the name and contact number of who to call. You can email at any time and request are collated for the next helpline date.

Each Tuesday, a member of the team will operate the helpline.

Note; if Tuesdays are not a suitable time to call back, please note this in your email and as far as reasonably possible we will try to accommodate your request.
