Midlands Shared Lives is a Staffordshire County Council commissioned service and a registered service with CQC, that provides a bespoke service to people over the age of 16 including someone who may experience mental health issues, have a learning disability, sensory impairment, physical disability or an older person.

We are able to offer long term live in arrangements for someone who may wish to live with one of our approved shared lives carers, or we can offer someone a short break to provide some respite for both the person and their family.  In addition we offer day sessions (Shared days) where someone may benefit from a carer helping them to engage with others in their local community, to help build confidence, their self esteem, all with the support of a shared lives carer who has been compatibly matched with them.

We also offer Home from Hospital support where a person can live in a carers home for a planned period of time. This provides a seamless transition from hospital discharge into the person's own home. This service offers a variety of support such as helping with gaining confidence, accessing services and working towards independence.
