New Era - Services for Perpetrators

New-era logo

New Era is the holistic Domestic Abuse (DA) service operating across Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent. Offering help to all those affected by domestic abuse in Staffordshire or Stoke-on-Trent, New Era provides free and confidential support for victims, perpetrators and their families.

Support for Perpetrators

Perpetrator support is available to anyone living in Staffordshire or Stoke-on-Trent who wants to change their abusive behaviour in their relationship. Support is based on the voluntary participation of the perpetrator.

New Era will work with individuals to understand which one-to-one or group work programme will be the most suitable, using a range of evidence-based interventions. Group work-based programmes include:

  • Changing Direction: a short-term programme available as an Out Of Court Disposal as well as an introductory session into Behaviour Change interventions;
  • Healthy Relationships Programme: a medium term programme (up to 12 sessions) of support for behaviour change;
  • theyMatter: a longer-term programme of support (up to 30 sessions) for higher risk behaviour change

All children aged 17 years and under must be referred through the Neutral Front Door - please see separate page for information about New Era's support for children.
