New and Aspiring Leaders in Relationships, Sex and Health Education - training for practitioners

This course is suitable for those with responsibility for Relationships, Sex and Health Education.

The course will include a mix of theory and practical ideas. Part of the day will be devoted to ensuring co-ordinators have a full understanding of the complexities of RSHE as a subject. We will look at pedagogy and good  practice across the subject and ways these can be implemented in the classroom. We will explore the statutory topics included in  RSHE. The day will include some input on evaluating and assessing RSHE.We will also consider the role RSHE plays in the wider life of the school including the contribution it makes to school improvement. We will consider national and local guidance and current issues which relate to RSHE.Some time will also be given to the important areas of PSHE education which are not included in the statutory RSHE framework.
