The Monthly Alzheimer's Support Evening Groups - MASE
The MASE Groups are continuing to run successfully with good numbers of Carers and their cared-for still attending the three Groups in Cannock, Haughton, and Rugeley.
- Cannock lunchtime Group is held on the first Monday of each month from 1:00 - 3:00
- Venue: St Luke’s Church Hall WS11 1DE (free car park)
- Haughton Group is held on 2nd Thursday of each month from 7:00 until 9:00 pm
- Venue: Haughton Village Hall ST18 9EZ (free car park)
- Rugeley Group is held on 3rd Friday of each month from 7:00 until 9:00 pm
- Venue is Lea Hall Davy Room Rugeley WE15 2LB (free car park)
Please note: the Group at Hednesford closed in November 2023 but Carers are welcome to join us at any of the other Groups.
A warm welcome will await carers and their cared-for at any of the other groups!
The MASE Groups offer Carers friendship and helps them to build up networks of support to help them on their journey with dementia.
Each group is run totally by volunteers - there are no paid workers.
There is information available at each group, together with Professionals who regularly attend the meetings to speak to Carers in a social atmosphere away from the hospital and doctor's surgery environment.
Each evening has home made cakes, refreshments and entertainment.
The events are free of charge and transport can always be provided to bring being into the groups if needed.
The locations have reasonable access by public transport and are in safe locations close to each town. The premises have wheel chair access, accessible toilets, car parking and catering facilities.

All MASE venues have adequate, safe, parking and there is no charge to park.
There is no charge to attend the group, but donation boxes are on all tables should people wish to contribute to the afternoon.
There is a light buffet and entertainment at Cannock Group together with a free raffle for Carers. All other Groups have home-made cakes and biscuits together with tea and coffee or soft drinks, plus entertainment.
An information table has various leaflets on Dementia and there is always a Volunteer available to help with any queries.
New people attending the groups always receive a Welcome Pack containing a variety of useful and helpful information.
