Recipe Book Project

STAFFS HISTORY CENTRE

At Staffordshire Archives and Heritage Service we are working with communities throughout the county to create a recipe book of dishes from across Eastern Europe.  We would love for individuals who identify with Eastern European heritage to contribute a recipe they feel represents or connects them with their national and/or cultural heritage.

The recipe you contribute is completely your choice!  Alongside your recipe there will be a short questionnaire to fill out about the dish and your connection with it.  You can share as much or as little as you like.  The answers will provide a brief introduction to the recipe in the book.

We aim to produce the booklet and distribute it to libraries around the county as well as featuring in an upcoming exhibition.  The recipe book is part of our larger Staffordshire History Centre project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

The project is bringing together collections from Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent Archive Service, the County Museum, and the William Salt Library to create exciting and imaginative ways to connect Staffordshire people and their stories.

If you would like to take part in the project (or have any questions) please email your chosen recipe and its national origin, with a little detail about your connection to the dish, to our Community History Development Officer, Hannah:  hannah.grangesales@staffordshire.gov.uk
