Hawthorn House - A safe and supported home environment for adults with a learning disability or autism













Offering high quality care in a residential environment for up to 29 adults with a Learning Disability and/ or Autism. We specialise in supporting adults with a moderate to severe learning disability who may also have a range of complex physical needs, health needs or behaviours that challenge.
Our Purpose
At Staffordshire County Council we know how important a home is. We recognise it is important for people to feel safe and cared for when they can't live independently anymore. Hawthorn House is a purpose built residence surrounded by large gardens making it the perfect setting to live. The home is set in an ideal location in a quiet residential area, close to local amenities and within walking distance to the beautiful cathedral city of Lichfield.
What We Offer
Our highly skilled, experienced staff are trained in all aspects of care and have a minimum of NVQ level II in Care. Each resident has an allocated link worker for day-to-day support, backed by an assigned member of the management team. We have 24 hour management on site.
Hawthorn House's catering team provide individual specific diets for all our residents, from a health and choice perspective. Our domestic and maintenance teams provide a clean and well presented environment.
We have excellent relationships with dedicated medical professionals supporting us including GP's, District Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Chiropodist, Optician, Safeguarding Team and our local Community Learning Disability Team. We offer complex specialist care and can support palliative/end of life should this arise.
Our Approach
Our priority is for our residents to feel at home at Hawthorn House. We provide person-centred care, ensuring residents are comfortable, safe and have an excellent quality of life. We provide high quality training to our staff and pride ourselves on the quality of our care and support. Our staff retention is excellent and provides consistency for our residents.
The service is currently rated 'Good' in all areas by the Care Quality Commission.
