Acupressure Therapy
Acupressure is a gentle Oriental therapy effective in resolving many health issues, such as anxiety, arthritis, sports injuries, fibromyalgia, painful menstruation and back pain. Acupressure uses the same system of energy meridians as acupuncture and is known as 'acupuncture without needles'. The therapist uses their fingers and thumbs to gently work the acupoints in order to affect a positive change in the client's energetic imbalance. Acupressure is a natural healing therapy that is gentle and soothing, yet powerful enough to produce great results. Alec Clark is fully qualified and highly experienced and is a member of the Complementary Therapists Association and the British Association of Holistic Medicine and Healthcare.
What to expect when you have a treatment
The treatment would usually take place in your own home, but can take place at a holistic centre in Stafford, if this is better for you. During the treatment you remain fully clothed. This ensures maximum convenience and comfort for you. Each treatment session takes between 45 minutes and an hour.
You would be asked to lie on a duvet or similar, on the floor in a position most comfortable for you. Alternatively, you can be treated standing up, or seated in a chair, depending on your mobility. After an initial diagnosis of your energetic imbalance, the therapist might gently stretch your limbs, neck, or back, before using fingers and thumbs to work along the meridians in order to clear energetic blockages and enliven stagnant energy. The therapist will treat the whole body, rather than one localised area. Each person is unique and will respond to each treatment differently, but many clients report quickly feeling more mobile and free from pain.
