Military Mindset - Free emotional wellbeing support for Armed Forces, Veterans and Family members - Staffordshire Network for Mental Health
We are a mental health charity that was set up in 2003, and deliver free mental health support around Staffordshire. We have many projects within our organisation and have recently received some funding to enable us to support armed forces, veteran’s and their families.
Our project is called Military Mindset and we are offering free:
- Toolbox one to one sessions to identify any issues and help promote good emotional wellbeing
- An opportunity to become a volunteer and be trained up to deliver a Toolbox to others or a Toolbox Ambassador to help promote our service to other ex-Military or existing service personnel’s.
- To attend our emotional wellbeing workshops around Staffordshire.
- Believe in yourself-confidence and self-esteem workshop.
- Look after your emotional health workshop.
- Beating Anxiety.
- Group sessions and therapies to support veterans who have mental health issues which may include depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and trauma related issues due to adverse experiences to help change your mindset.
Military Mindset - Overcome chronic anxiety, adverse experiences and PTSD
Toolbox mental wellbeing support
One-to-one sessions where our Toolbox facilitator will listen to the person (an essential part of healing), explore their needs, map out services and other people who can help and understand, thinking about gaps in their support. Following the session, each person receives a onepage 'at a glance' plan that they can use to consider how and when to self-manage and get help.
Volunteering
Opportunity for 10 volunteer toolbox ambassadors from within the services community to train in providing innovative programme to service and ex-service personnel and their families.
Self-management workshops
Group-style workshops focussing on anxiety management, confidence and self-esteem and group toolbox which will be available all year across Staffordshire.
Help for PTSD and trauma
Through 'Thrive', a highly effective approach to overcoming chronic anxiety, adverse experiences and post-traumatic stress.
