Chatterley Whitfield Friends

Chatterley Whitfield is an industrial time capsule and is widely acknowledged to be the most comprehensive surviving example of a deep mine site in England.
Here at Britain's biggest remaining colliery site, which has been designated by Historic England as an Scheduled Ancient Monument.
'The Friends' are a group of around 450 members who help maintain a Heritage Centre where we - 'Preserving the Past for the Future'.
We actively encourage visitors, and are in the process of digitising the vast amount of artefacts that were left a when the museum closed in 1993. In additions we have created a Memorial Garden.
