Birthplace Writer's Café
The creative writing café at the Dr. Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum is a new opportunity for people of all ages to participate in an inclusive week-by-week course of varying elements associated with the practice.
Set in an historic building in the heart of Lichfield, this relaxed writing hub welcomes participants of all levels to create stories, poems, and scripts in your own time and at your own pace. So, whether you are a beginner, or have experience or just want to be part of a new community group: we look forward to seeing you!
Week One: Introduction to the course. Objects and Objectives. Monday 20 March.
Week Two: 4 from 7: Targeting the audience. Monday 27 March.
Week Three: From the Page to the Stage: Part One. Monday 3 April.
Week Four: From the Page to the Stage: Part Two. Monday 17 April.
Week Five: No Rhyme or Reason. Monday 24 April.
Week Six: Traits and Turmoil. Monday 15 May.

The Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum is a Grade 1 listed building, which contains a varied mix of displays, reconstructed rooms and audio-visual media. Visitors are taken through the colourful life and major achievements of Lichfield's most famous son, from troubled childhood, through literary obscurity and financial poverty, to world renown and success.
